Moved & Settled and a New Girl!

It's been along time. I do have a very good excuse though ;) I had to move....my landlords house was foreclosed on and he neglected to tell his tenants. Lovely right? Well I had so much to move, I am a pack rat. I have lots of stuff not only all my craft supplies but I also work from home. So all those supplies made it a nightmare. Then to add to the mix a sick family member and all I can say is overwhelming. Good news is I'm back on track.

So it was my birthday the 1st of November. And I received an awesome gift. I can remember wanting her since she first came out. At that time I didn't have any of the Takara dolls just my Kenner from when I was a kid. But I loved the blue haired Miss sally Rice. At that time I really didn't have the extra money to spend on Blythe dolls so I just put it out of my mind. Then this spring when I got my first Takara I kept getting others instead of MSR. So I finally have one!

She's NRFB so her hair was in need of a wash. I shampooed it then blow dried her hair. It came out much better. I still would like to straighten it more.

I've heard so many people say that she's hard to photograph because of the shiny face. I have not had that problem at all.

I really want some new clothes though. So I feel I should make some myself. I went looking through my stuff and found my sewing machine, which I haven't used in at least 3 yrs maybe 4. It's cover was dirty from storage and the machine was dusty. I cleaned it up and set it up in my craft space. So it's all set to sew. Now I just need to get my rear in gear ;)

Big Pimpin in the Caddy!!!!

Okay seriously I about peed my pants when I came across a box in my basement that was full of dolls and this frickin Bratz Car!!!

You have to click on the picture to see it larger, it's fantastic! The doors open and close, it has a working FM radio there's a button on the dash to change stations. The horn works and sounds so cute and OMG the headlights and tail lights work EEK!!!!The trunk opens and there are working seat belts. I am so doing a video with this and my dolls. Stay tuned I already have it all planned out. Both girls fit perfectly in there too. I also found the black top Harlow is wearing in the box. The rest was a bunch of Bratz slut wear. There's another box I'm gonna go through tomorrow. See if there's any clothes I can use. Tons of Polly Pockets too.

On a sad note I sold my Bow Wow trad doll a few days ago. I did it because my mother had an unexpected car bill and she doesn't have all the money. I really hated to do it but I did.

When I told my mom I thought she was gonna cry. I think she's so sad that I sold one of my dolls. I told her I wanted to and I'd buy another one soon. I didn't think it would bother me but I actually felt bad boxing her up. I know she's going to a great home in Washington state and Debbie is a true collector. So in that respect she will be going to a great home.

I'm already scheming and planning who I want next. I have the option to trade my PDAubrena for a MSR plus I have to pay an extra 100 bucks. I'm most likely gonna do it this week. I've wanted MSR for so long. After that I think I'll get a dark haired girl and it will be either Love Mission or Ebony.

We finally had a nice sunny day yesterday. I took all the dolls outside for a group shot. Not long after my neighbor who lives down stairs came out of his apartment and saw me and the dolls. People just don't get it.
So this is my favorite of all the group shots. Cinnamon Girl needs her hair washed somethin fierce. She's got the coarsest hair I have ever felt. But she's awesome!
Not that I'm picking favorites or anything but I actually like her better than Picca who goes for allot more than CG. If you don't have a CG I highly recommend her.
So the middle pic is of all the Takara girls. My ADG Margie actually fell off the bench, must have had heat stroke or somethin, poor girl.

We also got a new dress from Ashley known as pungsnotded on flickr. My Picca Noelle is wearing her new paris dress. Her dresses are simple cute and really reasonable at 7 bucks a piece. She also included a matching barrette and a cute Chinese cocktail umbrella.
I've still not sewn one frickin outfit for my girls either. I'm such a bad mom. Hey it ain't cheap dressing 6 girls. Let alone having a change of clothes for them.

I just received this cute skirt yesterday made from an old hankie. It's so cute a green and yellow with awesome crochet edges.

Next I'll post new pics of some of the girls who had a shampoo. Earlier tonight I washed Margie, Lil Acorn and Noelle's hair. I also tried to iron CG's hair like I did to a few of my other dolls. Well it wasn't good. I burned some of it. EBL def has a different type of hair than RBL's. I'm so pissed. I think I'll do a fabric softener treatment next time. Maybe that'll help soften her hair even more.

3 NEW Dolls in 1 week....

Is she not a beauty? Friday night she went up for adoption on Plastic paradise, and after a few messages with Val I bought her. She's a Sunshine Holiday customized by fruityblythe. The first 2 pictures are from fruityblythe and the last is from Val. Her face has been sanded and her eyes boggled. Some new chips added too. I just love her sweet face. I'm planning on letting my daughter open her up once she arrives and if she likes her I'll let SH be hers.

I thought of a few names for her, either Harlow or CoCo Chanel. My daughter likes both so we'll see which name she will get once she arrives.

I just wish I didn't have to wait to get them, why can't it just be you pay for the doll and the next day she knocks on your door with her suitcase in hand? I mean seriously am I not right?
I'm hoping my next post will be of at least one of my new dolls here with me instead of me having to post with other peoples pics :)
I pulled out fabric last night, I'm gonna vacuum now then get my rear in gear and make some new dresses!

I've Officially Lost my Mind!

Yep that's right, what the hell happened to my priorities and my rational thinking I have no idea.
Although I suppose this is the lesser of the 2 evils. I was going to buy MSR for 250.00 so Cinnamon Girl at 160.00 is 90. bucks cheaper.
So I really want to have a nice collection of BL's and EBL's and since my Picca that's coming will be my first EBL I figured that this girl would be a great addition. Even though I don't tend to like dishwater blonde's I'm making an exception :)
She is so cute though....

I was planning on doing some scrapbooking this weekend but I think I might be sewing some doll clothes. I don't feel like taking pics because I want new clothes to motivate me. So once I get back from the airport tonight I'm cleaning off my kitchen table and bringing out my sewing machine.
I already drew up plenty of clothes patterns so that's not an excuse. I have fall fashion fever too, but I'm gonna try to hold off dressing the dolls for fall just yet.
I already know where the dolls new home will be. I have a shelf in my studio with scrapbooking supplies on it. Stuff I don't use regularly. And it will easily hold 15 dolls if needed. And it's not in direct sunlight. So that'll be next weeks project.

Looking at this girls pic I would normally make her hair super straight but I think I'm gonna go with beach hair, a little wavy and seperated.
So exciting next week will be a great week for new dollies!!!

It's a Picca!!!

I have no ideas yet for a name yet, I haven't named the PDA for that matter either, yikes...get with the program!

She's totally a cutie, so now that makes 2 redheads. Me thinks we need a blonde girl. The custom is a brown mix so still no Blondie.

I find myself looking for clothes that will look cute on the redheads.

I also have this fantastic pencil post doll bed. I bought it along time ago, like 18 or 20 yrs ago. I have a picture of my cat sleeping in it, she broke it. It's been put away for all these years. So I took it out and in about 15 minutes I fixed it. It's an ugly stain color now. So I'm gonna paint it an antique black then I'll post pics of the dolls in it.

Yay for New Dolls!!!!

The girls are checking out there new sister. Making sure they approve, since they have to share with her!

Here she is right outta the box. And all I can say is her hair was bad. Bangs had stragglers and some on the back too. She wasn't here an hour and she was in the sink having her hair shampooed. Once it dried she went through the straightening process. She looks great now.

Here's her close up, looking at her I did not even notice that her bangs had the slight parting. But it's really not a problem.

I will say that she photographs really well. And I love the RBL mold. The eye holes are bigger than in the SBL. I would actually consider dying her hair, either a deeper red or a dark black/brown. Another thing I notice is that she has fine thin hair. This is only my second Takara but I guess I"m comparing her hair to the ADG, and these girls have about 1/3 of the hair that my ADG has.

Our new family pic, all will change in a little more than a week when our new custom girl shows up.

Then we seriously need to get it together and start sewing some new clothes. I'm so bored with all the outfits we have already. The shoe situations not as bad as the apparel. I can't imagine if I added all the rement stuff to collecting too. I mean holy crap all that extra expense along with clothes??? Yikes! I will say I can't wait for Halloween and making costumes for these girls, I've already got some great ideas.

And I have to say the dress that BWT's wearing I won off Ebay, I just loved the whole outfit it was modeled on a Ebony with these cute black boots with a skull on the front. I had read somewhere Martha aka mugsyboo wrote that some colors in a outfit were McDonalds colors......well thanks Martha cuz this dress I loved so much now makes me think of the golden arches everytime I look at it lol!

It's been Awhile

Times been going by so fast, but I have some new pics to share, plus am saving some other great news for a future post ;)

I took this pic of Margie on my concrete Rooster a few weeks ago. I thought it came out kinda cool.

Yesterday I went outside with the dollies and was taking just a few pics. My daughter came home, her father was dropping her off. She said to me "Your scarring Daddy".....wha? Because I'm takin pics of dolls outside? Pulease has he not seen the awesome billboard with Blythe for Target? Oh well who cares right?
So this is my newest girl Lizzie BWT and Margie. They were supposed to have another sister here on wednesday.....come on postal people it's thursday and still no new doll!!!! We aren't very good at being patient ya know.

I'm not gonna spoil the surprise but a hint is she has reddish hair. Oh and she's a prima dolly I think.

But also and I can't believe it myself, but we won a custom girl on ebay.......and omg she is soooo pretty. I never thought I'd ever want a custom girl but wait till I show you her pic. The seller took some really good pics, I'll show them in a few days.

I really like this last pic of Lizzie sittin on the bug infested stump, poor girl had ants on her at one time. But that's the way it goes outside in the summer.

We've recently gotten in a bunch of new shoes, these cute black boots with the thick soles, perfect for her to stand on her own. Also a cute pair of orange converse, a white pair of doc martins and another black pair of docs. We still need a bunch of colors in MJ's.

And how quickly we get bored of our clothes, not good. We do have some new cute dresses and sweaters from etsy on there way, megipupu who we love. And I just need to get my rear in gear and start to sew some clothes.

Finally our new girl has arrived! She came out of her box, and into a new dress, then we took a few pics. It's amazing the difference between the ashton drake dolls and the Takara dolls. It's so clear in the pics that BWT is much smaller than adg. She's also much more rubbery feeling. I so love the stock chips on this girl. I've named her Lizzie Boardeau, after my lovely Aunt Lizzie who I adored and Lizzie Borden, Just all in fun of course! Oh hope she hasn't wacked anyone before YIKES.....

After I've looked at so many different Blythe dolls I now know what I love most. And it's the BL mold! All of the early dolls with that face I just LOVE! And want of course.

Goldie is so high on my list. Then my next fave would be the EBL mold. Not that I'm not gonna collect any others, I'm just sayin that I'm lovin those 2 molds bestest!

Sweet little Lizzie will have her hair shampooed this weekend and straightened. We are expecting a new girl too.....she comes from our friend Martha, and she has red hair.....that's all I'm sayin for now ;)

We have so many new clothes coming from plastic paradise it's awesome. And a great way to inexpensively build up a wardrobe. We also bought so many cute crocheted things from Etsy is unbelievable how cute they are. People have such talent, making these tiny little hats and tops.

I wonder how long it would take to learn to crochet sweaters for dolls?

Margie got this idea from one of Martha's pics of Charlie sliding down the birdhouse roof. She really didn't think it through because this roof is rusty....and she was wearing a dress......so her butt's now officially rusted :( poor Margie.
We had fun tonight shopping on plastic paradise. We bought the cutest pair of converse high top sneakers in a nice tan color, 2 pairs of high white barbie plastic boots, and a red pair. And a shirt too. If the white ixtee boots aren't sold by wednesday we're gettin them too! Only 15 bucks left in the paypal account, so were limited at the moment.
Poor Margie is so embarrassed because she has to wear her stock LL shoes :( I told her that back in the day kids had to wear shoes with holes in them and sometimes they had no shoes. If I hadn't spent almost a grand on my new Rebel and the extra lens, plus the 1000. pink laptop for Alexa we could have bought lots of shoes and sisters too!

Hair wash and new barrette, yea!

Some new hair wear showed up in our mailbox Friday. How we love the button barrette we got from Martha Bonneau's etsy shop.

Just don't buy the turquoise one, that ones mine ;) I took a few pics inside today. Margie had her hair washed last night, almost all of the fabric softener is out of her hair. Thank god that stuff made it so greasy!

She's mad because she doesn't have a sister here yet to play with. She doesn't realize that this stuff takes time. She's got shoes coming from overseas, we can hardly wait.

Sunday we'll take some pics outside, hopefully the sun will be out again. It's been raining here for the last 5 days.

So I have been spending way to much time changing my mind on which girl I'm buying next. I'm really thinking it will be MSR I love her coloring and the pink lips and blush. I would love to get PDE or BWT but I really need to pay a few bills first. So it looks like it'll be msr.

I'm so excited, a few nights ago I was looking through flickr with my daughter. I showed her all my faves of blythe dolls. She said she'd like one *squee* you can imagine how happy I was when she said that! She likes PDE and BWT. Maybe I'll get one for her and I to share ;) now I know what I'm having her get me for my birthday and Christmas this year.

I really wanted to start sewing her clothes this weekend but I got side tracked. We washed the dogs and cleaned up a bit. But soon!!!!

I need to go figure out what happened to the pic of the new barrette....hmmmm, all set :)

Fabric n Trim Love

I went to Joann's Friday night. Thought I'd search for some fabric to start my doll clothes. I have enough fabric and wool already that I could insulate this place and about 5 others with yardage to spare! It's that bad, so I grabbed some of my reproduction fabrics from my back porch. I have tons buried out there. This grouping was mostly from the brown collections. I love the mustardy brown one on the left.
I'm still trying to figure out why these pics look so crappy. I think someone screwed with my camera!!!

These are more from my stash, all of them were purchased from http://www.reproductionfabrics.com/ one of my fave places for repro fabric. They have fabrics from all eras. They start with 1700's and work up to some kitchy 50's stuff.

The one below this is so cool and mod, it reminds me of a pic of my mother at the beach when I was 5. That ones gonna make a great dress and a pair of black leggings to go under, love!

Look at those cute glasses, I found them at AC Moore, to bad they don't stay on her head. I was so excited to see them for 3.00 I bought 3 pairs, thought I'd paint them. Oh well

Lovin the ribbed knits too, don't ya just love those colors? I'm into orange lately too. Even orange soda....yum

Now this batch is from J's along with the ribbed knits. That turquoise eyelet is so awesome. i would love something for me in that fabric. The bottom wicker chair print too....love love love!

And stars of course are perfect for summer

Now if you sew you so have to go to J's, they got in a bunch of new trims. The 2 rick rack are felt, They may even be iron on. Oh sorry the smaller rick is patent leather, that's right I said patent leather! They come in a whole bunch of super colors, plus die cut felt trims in flowers and hearts.

The zebra one was really expensive but I just thought I could make something really cool with it. Maybe a purse or some pillows.

I spent 35.00 and believe me it filled maybe a third of the bag if I'm lucky. Trims weren't on sale or else I would have bought all the new felt and patent ones.

And now that I fixed the problem with my internet I can get myself in gear and start sewing. Puppy chewed the cord again....yup so discreetly though this time. I had to re splice the cord in 3 places. I went as far as to have my isp provider come out to the house. Thank god I realized where the problem was before I let them in. I think he told me it was something like 35.00 an hour for them to do inside work. That's a rip off.

So far the beast has chewed through 2 cords that supply my internet life line, plus one printer cord, and all of them were severed in multiple places.

Hopefully I'll be back in a few days with some pics of Blythe attire I've sewn. I'm tryin to think of a name for the line of clothes I want to sew. I like the name Reform School Designs allot. I also like the name Miss Liberty's House Designs too.

Christmas 1972? Or is it 73?

So I decided to give Blythe there own home.
Seeing how I'm in a 12 step program BDA (blythe doll addict). I'm not in anyway meaning to degrade the 12 step program for drug and alcohol, I'm just trying to have fun here:)
I found my pics from Christmas with Blythe. And all I can say is MY MOM ROCKS! That woman totally hooked me up at Christmas and still does!
Now my Kenner is at my cousins house somewhere? In Virginia. I think she's holding her hostage....she must have seen the ebay listings, and the prices she brings ;)
But I'm wondering...If anyone can tell in these fabbo pics, in technicolor I might add....which girl she is? I need to find the other pics with better shots of blythe. But I might only have the negatives.
But hey check out all the goods Mom got me for Blythe, holy crap she totally hooked me up. I tried to crop the pic to get in closer but it's so grainy. But at least I have the pic right? I wish I had photo shop so I could try and work some miracles on this pic hmmm I have to think if I know of anyone willing to try and work there magic.

Now what's on it's way to my house? Let's see Prima Dolly Aubrey.....some really cute dresses from dollymolly on etsy, some cute high tops from ebay, and a few more goodies.
I'm already tryin to decide which girl I want next. I'm thinking, MSR, or Bow wow trad love her bangs and long straight dark hair. And also mod molly. maybe next week once I pay some bills.
I plan on starting to sew some doll clothes too. I started sketching dresses so in a day or 2 I'll get movin on that. If it's not too tedious I may sell some on etsy. I absolutely love to hand sew, so I'm sure I'll add some different elements to the clothes.

I picked up some new trims that Joanns got in. They are awesome, patent leather style rick rack....ah... yea, totally cool. In all sorts of great colors. Perfect for blythe clothes and scrapbooking gotta love that.

Well I spose that's it for now....I shall return though :)
